As all we
know, Architecture is a career based on the experience, I think Architecture is
for living it, beyond studying it. So starting with this idea, the main change
I would do in the program, is to travel and visit the most important architectural
works, at least in Santiago the first year, and then who knows, out of chile!

Continuing
with the program, I’d focus on things related with the human behavior and how to
control it, for example, we all start the university and immediately have
problems with organizing time. So I really think that is urgent to put some
subject that teaches you the best way to do the projects, how much time you
should spend on thinking about the project, making the project, how many hours
you should sleep, what time, and many other things that are basic, but most of
us don’t know how to go through with them.
About the
teaching methods, as I’ve already said, I think it’s very important to travel
and live the architecture, so a good way to teach could be in the place or the
building that we want to study. And at the time of making models, every group
of students should have their own classroom, because here in the faculty we
have to be looking for a place start to work every hour, because of the
schedule of each classroom.
And of
course there should be AutoCAD courses because you pass the first year and immediately
teachers demand you for a model in 3D in AutoCAD with contour lines included! Well,
I’m exaggerating, but it feels like that (Well actually I didn’t feel that
because I haven’t passed first year yet haha, but all my friends did haha and
they told me haha…. Poor them)
So
basically that would be my suggested program: just trips (not the drug, of
course…) and work collaboratively with the other faculties of the University.
